Fall has arrived! After an unusually hot and humid start to September last week, this week brought cooler weather, the start of seasonal allergies, earlier sunsets and my first pumpkin spice latte – it’s officially fall now.
Monday – P90X Shoulders & Arms for 60 minutes
Tuesday – REST (plan called for 3 miles at 10:26 pace)
I felt my fall allergies kicking in and had absolutely zero energy. I decided to take a much-needed nap rather than run the 3 miles.
Wednesday – 7.74 miles fast (plan called for 8.5 miles at 8:25-8:11 pace)
Mike and I decided to get in some miles before Potomac River Running’s 6:30 pm run club. We ran to the Lincoln Memorial and then up through downtown to the store, making it there at 6:25 pm. The first part of the run was about 4.75 miles. The run club ran its usual 3 miles (we’ve done this run club a few times before), bringing us to a total of 7.74. Close enough. This run club was hosted by the Rock ‘n Roll Marathon series to kick off and promote their March DC race. Recap of the run club coming later this week.
Thursday – REST
Mike and I had to go out of town through Saturday and, due to several busy days, weren’t able to cross-train.
Friday – REST

We had planned to do an 8.5 mile run in the morning in on the Greenway in NC, but because of the muggy and rainy weather, decided to wait to run until Sunday in DC.
Sunday – 8.5 mile run comfortable (plan called for 9:33 – 8:38 pace)
What a gorgeous day! It was about 65 degrees with a slight crisp breeze. I listened to my first podcast while running and found it very relaxing – also made the time fly by. I’m not sure why it’s taken me so long to try it. Matt and Mike listened (and still listen) to fantasy football podcasts last year during marathon training.
